Jenny Nand

Trustee

Jenny Nand has called Hamilton home for 30 years.

The city has given her a deep sense of belonging, and much of his work is driven by a commitment to give back to the communities that shaped her. Jenny holds a Master of Anthropology and works for a Crown entity based in Hamilton, where she contributes to projects that strengthen community wellbeing and regional development.

Jenny brings experience across local and central government, a strong background in community‑led development, and serves on multiple for‑purpose and governance organisations. Her work also extends into the Pacific islands as well, supporting communities in remote island nations facing the real impacts of climate change. This has deepened her commitment to climate justice, equity, and people‑centred solutions.

She is dedicated to social cohesion and anti‑racism, and upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi as a foundation for fair and inclusive outcomes. Jenny brings governance experience, collaboration, and a strong commitment to strengthening the wellbeing of the Waikato.

Jenny was appointed a trustee in April 2020.
