The Len Reynolds Trust was founded by Len and Ada Reynolds with a vision of giving back to the Waikato community. We honour their legacy today by supporting children, young people, and the environment, and by upholding the values of Mahi-a-Ngākau – working from the heart.
As part of that legacy, a Reynolds family member currently sits on our Board of Trustees. Currently, this role is held by Kim Avery.
From time to time, we receive requests from whānau who are interested in joining the Board as trustees. To ensure fairness, transparency, and the integrity of our processes:
Family members do not appoint other family members. This ensures no one is placed in a difficult position, and that appointments are made in line with good governance practice.
The Board of Trustees as a whole considers any new trustee appointments, guided by our kaupapa, strategy, and governance needs.
We welcome expressions of interest from Reynolds whānau, and we take these seriously as part of continuing the vision of Len and Ada.
What’s Involved in Being a Trustee
Being a trustee of the Len Reynolds Trust is both an honour and a responsibility. Trustees help guide the direction of the Trust so that the legacy of Len and Ada Reynolds continues to benefit tamariki, rangatahi, and the environment across Waikato.
As a trustee, you will:
Attend board meetings (usually held quarterly in Kirikiriroa) and come prepared by reading the papers in advance.
Make decisions together with the rest of the board about funding, strategy, and governance matters.
Bring your perspective and skills to strengthen the board’s collective wisdom.
Uphold our values – mahi-a-ngākau (work from the heart), manaakitanga, tikanga, equity, and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Be open to learning, as we are on a journey of continual growth in governance, equity, and climate action.
Act in the best interests of the Trust and the communities we serve – not personal interests.
